LITERATURE...
The
literature, in its broadest sense, is any written work; although some
definitions include texts spoken or sung. In a narrower sense, traditional, is
the scripture that has literary merit and that favors the literariness, in
opposition to the ordinary language. The term literature also nominates the set
of literary productions of a nation, of a time or even in a genre (Greek
literature, literature of the eighteenth century, the fantastic literature, etc. ) and to the whole
range of works that relate to an art or science (medical literature, legal,
etc. ). It is studied by the literary theory.
.
In the seventeenth
century, which today we call "literature" is designated as poetry or
eloquence. During the Spanish Golden Century, poetry was understood by any
literary invention, belonging to any gender and not necessarily in verse. At
the beginning of the eighteenth century they began to use the word
"literature" to refer to a set of activities that used writing as a
means of expression.
